GOOD DAY?

This week has gotten off to a good start. First of all it's Thanksgiving week, so that's one day off for me. Plus nothing makes your day better than growing some balls and asking for a pretty girls number and actually receiving it...Or one, hopefully it's her number. It's probably a wrong way of thinking but I can't help it people do the all the time.

Anyways, it's still just a good feeling.

I can't wait to stuff myself and lay around watching movies with the family on Thursday. I love holidays!

KATE BUSH MONTH

For the past thirteen years I have celebrated the month of November as Kate Bush month. Thirteen years ago I happened to see a video on MTV's 120 minutes, it was Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush. The video wasn't a real video it was from some British TV show but she had a bunch of dancers around her as she sang and also danced. My mouth dropped open and stayed open until the end of the song. A connection was made somehow. This connection with the music and Kate Bush has changed my life or added fuel to the fire, I'm not really sure. When I'm asked to describe her, I usually say that she's a female version of Peter Gabriel. This works because they did some songs together and the subject matter of her songs is based on myth and supernatural things, the U.K.'s long history, or literature all of which I dig. Oh and she also writes songs about womanly stuff like sensuality and feelings.

Anyways, she is beautiful and has a beautiful voice. She was discovered by David Gilmore(Pink Floyd) when she was, I think 16 years old and put out her first album when she was 17. She did her own choreography for her live shows and videos and writes her own songs. She is truly a unique mind. A mind who has influenced people like Sarah Mclachlan, Tori Amos, Charlotte Martin, Fiona Apple-the list goes on folks.

If you would like to check her out, I suggest looking for the albums Hounds Of Love or The Dreaming. These were from her 80's heyday and both are great albums.

Man, I'm a dork. I think this is the dorkiest post I've ever done. Oh well, enjoy!

Hey Brian! I hope your Thanksgiving was great! Mine was! I've been listening to Kate Bush as you may have guessed. Plus the Twilight Singers, a DJ by the name of Chris Joss who mixed a bunch of old school funk together with some updated sounds to make a very fun disc to listen to. I've been listening to the Monks lately(the British band not the crazy G.I.'s that were stationed in Germany back in the 60's). The British Monks are late 70's punk rock with a sense of humor. Other than that, Descendents, All, Face to Face, Screeching Weasel. Megadeth, Har Mar Superstar, Johnny Cash...I'm all over the place.
