REVENGE OF THE POSTER CHILDREN

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the Poster Children ever since they lost an MTV battle of the bands to Live, that was a long time ago folks. On their new album, No More Songs About Sleep & Fire, they have returned to the past, their past, and its good! More Songs...Came out today and finds the band blending sounds from 1991's Flower Power , 1993's Tool of the man, and 95's Junior Citizen, to welcoming ears. This is one of those bands that has been around before, during and after the hay day of the indie boom and they are still standing thanks to their great song writing; It manages to sound fresh while blending the older elements of their song writing. If smart, angsty lyrics, angular guitars and driving disco/new wave beats are your thing, than this is for you. If you don't like the aforementioned description, you should still give the disc a listen. You never know when a new fan might pop up!

RFID FREAKS THE HELL OUT OF ME!

Man, I sincerely hope that Radio Frequency Identification, does not become a standard among retailers. This article outlines it pretty well. Scary stuff. An Orwellian future comes another step closer as some manufacturers have ordered these little computer chips that would enable people with the right equipment to know exactly what your doing, what you own and more. The technology is cheap and you can bet it will cheapen up if more manufactures by into the idea.

THIS JUST IN

Dr. David Klein makes the news! Way to go Dave!

ROCKIN' IT HARD

This may be old news but it's new news to me;there is a contest for air guitaring and a dude from the U.S. won the world title! The world championship takes place in Finland. There are two contests in America to win before advancing to the championship, one on the West Coast and one on the East Coast. All I have to say about this is "Umm"...While scratching my head.

WHAT THE...

I'm trying to figure out why anyone would want to make miniatures of buildings where tragedy's have taken place. Check out the online store where you can buy miniatures of Three Mile Island, Oklahoma City Federal Building and others. They cost about a hundred bucks. Who buys this stuff?

I'm not sure why I thought of Larry when I saw this. Check out all the photos of the Love Machine

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT ANIME

I was what people's thoughts were concerning Amine, the Japanese style of animation, since the big studio's have taken an interest and are looking to produce their own Anime style movies.

As for myself, I've watched the "classics" like Wicked City and Akira and have even suffered through Dragon Ball Z just to try and figure out what the big deal is. Some of the other Anime I've watched were pretty much porno's in which school girls get raped by multi-tenticled demons. I just don't get the attraction to Anime or any of it's sub-genres. If anyone can shed some light on this subject, please do so.

Anthony and his art

The Gorge Adams Gallery is a collection of Tony's sculptures. It's good stuff, he always amazes me! So, if you happen to be in New York between now and February 7th, be sure to try and check it out. Way to go Tony! I wish you the best!

Anthony grew up in Minot but this city had little to offer a man of Anthony's abilities so onward he went to the Big Apple to try and make his way in the world. It's always great to see him at Christmas. Hopefully next year we'll be able to get a game of paintball going along with the hocky night. Photo provided by that genius Les Moore. I could not attend the hocky night because of work but next year, next year.

STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS II

I don't know why, but for some reason I really miss the days of Def Leppard, particularly the Hysteria and Pyromania albums. Those were classic albums. Maybe it's because I was young and relatively innocent and tend to look back upon those times as being blissfully ignorant of most of the Earth's evils.

No matter how bad my day is farting and toilet humor will always make me laugh. Farts are hilarious! Here's a good piece of advice to follow, "Don't hold your farts in because they go straight to your head and that's were shitty ideas come from".

SPEAKING OF TOILET HUMOR

Because of strong DVD sales of the Family Guy ,Cartoon network has picked up the animated series. The latest Entertainment Weekly says that we could be seeing episodes around the end of 2004. I've also heard spring of 2005.

The Descendents have a new album due out soon...Looks like all new All albums are around the corner, including an instrumental? album. Interesting.

The Thunderbirds live action movie is beginning to sound better.

News for you Captain Scarlet fans, the series is being revamped for another go at TV. This time around it will consist of CG animation termed "Hypermarionation" instead of the "Supermarionation" puppets.

I not sure what this means either, but last week I ate fish for supper 4 times. I'd say I was trying to be healthy but because they were battered instead of broiled or baked I don't think healthy eating is a possibility. There is a strong possibility that I may develop gills and turn into something similar to the Creature From The Black Lagoon so I can eat nothing but fish...Wait, I like too many other foods for that to happen. I'd better stop eating all that fish!

TACO JOHNS=HAPPY TUMMY!

I just finished eating my lunch/dinner from, you guessed it, Taco Johns! I had three crispy tacos, a small potato ole and a churro for dessert. This blog is specifically for those who don't live here or anywhere near a Taco Johns, who are right now probably salivating over memories of their last Taco Johns meal. It may be hard to believe but for those of you who have never eaten at Taco Johns, you are truly missing out. Taco Bell what???

Hey There

My friend Brian does music and movie reviews for Movie Poopshoot.com. It's Kevin Smiths website. Feel free to check out the site. He has also written articles that have appeared in Punk Planet, Copper Press, AP and Skyscraper to name a few. Good work man!

In other news someone has started a North Dakota Blogs site and they have linked Dylron's filter to it. Thanks you guys! I have provided a link to their site stop by to check it out!

Here is some crazy news from Grand Forks. Does this kind of crime seem to be happening more often? Larry has a couple of disturbing articles on his site today that are of related topics. I hope these crimes slow down in number or stop altogether. To me it seems like they are happening in too great a number. Grand Forks has definitely had their troubles lately.

All friends of Kimberly "Canada" Gattinger are invited to a memorial(?) that will be held at the Ice Box on January 25th.

IN REMEMBRANCE OF KIMBERLY "CANADA" GATTINGER

I have some bad news to tell people who new Kimberly. On Friday afternoon while on her way to Fesseden, she hit an icy patch of road, lost control of her car and hit an SUV head on. She did not survive.

Some of you may remember her as "Canada" who dated Paul boog's brother, J.J.. Obviously, Kimberly was Canadian. She was a fun person to be around and will definitely be missed.
